The continued production of U.S. distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) and coarse grains is critical to satisfy the growing global demand for feed grains, according to Gary Blumenthal, president and CEO of World Perspectives Inc.

“As long as global population continues to grow, the demand for meat, milk and eggs will increase, and subsequently the demand for livestock and thus for DDGS will climb as well,” Blumenthal said.

Blumenthal plans to address the growing global demand for U.S. DDGS in his presentation, focused around the global economic outlook and the world livestock industry, at the upcoming Export Exchange 2010, to be held Oct. 6-8 in Chicago, Ill. He will also discuss the future markets for DDGS.

The Export Exchange is an international trade conference focused around the export of U.S. DDGS and coarse grains. This unprecedented conference is expected to bring together more than 200 international buyers of U.S. DDGS and coarse grains with more than 300 U.S. producers and agribusinesses.

“My key objective is to address the buyers and end-users of U.S. DDGS and explain to them why demand continues to increase and thus why it is an important part of global economic activity to ensure the continued purchase and production of feed supplies,” Blumenthal said.

In addition to serving as president and CEO of World Perspectives Inc., Blumenthal serves on numerous boards including the joint USDA-USTR Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Grains, Feeds and Oilseeds and the USDA Emerging Markets Program Advisory Committee.

He previously served as chief of staff to former Secretary of Agriculture Clayton Yeutter and worked for the Foreign Agricultural Service as legislative director, and as a legislative assistant to Congressman Larry J. Hopkins.
