Held in San Francisco, Calif. at the famed Fairmont Hotel, the theme of the Council's 51st Annual Board of Delegates meeting was “Year of Competitiveness.” The meeting featured expert industry speakers, tours and opportunities to reconnect with Council members and staff. Additionally, delegates set the Council's agenda for the upcoming year through voting on bylaw changes and electing new officers.

The theme of the 2011 meeting was “Year of Competitiveness,” and took place Feb. 6-10, 2011 in New Orleans at the Hotel InterContinental. The focus of the meeting was to identify infrastructure challenges and how the United States will handle the capacity of an emerging global demand. The meeting featured expert industry speakers, tours and opportunities to reconnect with Council members and staff.

The U.S. Grains Council is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to building export markets for barley, corn, sorghum and their products. The Council is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and has 10 international offices and active market development programs in more than 50 countries. Financial support from the Council’s private industry members, including state checkoffs, agribusinesses, state entities and others, triggers federal matching funds from the government and support from cooperating groups in other countries, producing an annual market development program valued at more than $28.3 million.
