Margaret Warn Haberman

 

Margaret Warn Haberman is Director of Finance and Administration for the U.S. Grains Council, a non-profit organization that promotes the use of U.S. corn, barley and sorghum and related products worldwide.  In this capacity, Haberman is responsible for supervising the Council’s human resources functions and office administration.

 

Haberman worked for the Council from 1980 to 1992 as a Program Assistant, Accounting Assistant, and Manager of Overseas Accounting. During that time she implemented procedures that are still being used by the Council and other Cooperators. She left the Council’s employ in 1992 to follow her husband around the U.S. as he served in the U.S. Air Force. Haberman returned to the Council in January 2008.

 

Haberman received her Bachelor of Music degree, cum laude, from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the commonwealth of Virginia.

 

Haberman is a native of Hudson, Ohio, and currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband, Col. Evan Haberman, and their two children.

The Council is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and has 10 international offices and active market development programs in more than 50 countries. Financial support from the Council’s private industry members, including state checkoffs, agribusinesses, state entities and others, triggers federal matching funds from the government and support from cooperating groups in other countries, producing an annual market development program valued at more than $28.3 million.
