Dear Grains Council members,

Never before has the grain value-chain been more focused on the importance of trade to our profitability and our growth.

In this environment, we are particularly excited to invite you to the U.S. Grains Council’s 57th Annual Board of Delegates Meeting, scheduled for Vancouver, Washington, from July 31 to Aug. 2

Drawing off our theme this year of Expanding Trade, Expanding Opportunities, our program at this meeting will help you learn about the critical issues impacting our ability to increase export markets and respond to growing demand for U.S. coarse grains and co-products.

We will take a deep dive into several current hot topics – ethanol exports, China’s growing influence on the markets, and growing opportunities in existing markets like Mexico and future markets in Frontier Asia. We will also go back to basics and review some of the fundamental arguments for trade you can take home to neighbors and to those who will have influence on the future of trade policy.

The Council’s Advisory Teams (A-teams) will also meet and review USGC’s progress toward the implementation of the 2017 Unified Export Strategy (UES), the Council’s operational plan. USGC delegates will adopt next year’s budget and elect new officers and board members that will lead the organization in the coming critical years.

The heart of our organization’s work is to build market development programs and expand opportunities for U.S. farmers and agribusinesses – and those will be the focus of this meeting.

We hope you will join us in these sessions and in this ongoing mission!

Sincerely,
